A Hot Rod tipikus amerikai autó, amelyet elsősorban a gyorsulási versenyeken való részvételre tuningoltak. A stílus az 1930-as években, Kaliforniában született. A Hot Rod közösség két fő irányzatra osztható: A Hot Rodderek főleg eredeti, korabeli alkatrsézekből építik autóikat, és megtartják a 1940-60 között népszerű stílusirányzatot, míg a Street Rodderek elsősorban új alkatrészekből építkeznek.
